A Very Loose Exegesis

“Take up your cross and follow me,”He says.

Yes, it’s easy as that!

Bible is often taken either out of context or to suit our own purposes, I’m guilty, too.

The actual Greek language has been loosely interpreted, but as in our own Cajun French we’ve either used an English word or something similar as close; not an accurate translation

The important point is not to be so legalistic that we become judgmental and/or Pharisaical; I’m guilty of that.

With all the don’ts we miss the do’s. Being a follower of Jesus isn’t that darn complicated or impossible. Present day religions have made it virtually impossible to be a Jesus follower.

Just be one; it’s really all he’s asked. He’ll do the rest. Do the aforementioned do’s and your good to go.

If you do a don’t ; it’s good, too. That’s why we need Jesus. He’s perfect; we epitomize imperfection.

Live your life following Jesus. He’s fun with a sense of humor.
